The Philadelphia Police Department is trying to catch two suspects believed to be connected to the sexual assault and robbery of a woman over the weekend near Center City.

Surveillance video shows the female victim walking on the 1300 block of Lombard Street toward a man at around 5:30 a.m. on March 4.

Video shows the man grabbing her as she tries to pass him, then dragging her down the nearby 400 block of South Watts Street, where she was allegedly sexually assaulted and robbed.

“He immediately began to punch the complainant in the face and head causing injuries that required medical treatment,” a police report stated. “The male then sexually assaulted the complainant before robbing her of her backpack which contained several personal items.”

Police released surveillance video of the incident and video showing a second man, who allegedly was an accomplice and served as a lookout during the assault and robbery.

Tipsters: contact police at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or text a tip to PPDTIP (773847).
