A woman was killed and three other people were injured Sunday morning in various incidents across Philadelphia, police said.

Just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Philadelphia medics arrived on the scene on the 2100 block of South 7th Street in South Philadelphia where they found a 55-year-old Asian woman who was stabbed once in the neck, and multiple times in the legs. PFD Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Police have detained an individual for additional questioning. No weapons have been recovered and PPD’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the situation.

Through Sunday, 157 people have been killed in Philadelphia this year, a 37% decrease compared to the same date in 2023, according to police data.

A 33-year-old man is in critical care after suffering a gunshot wound to left side of his stomach. At 3:45 a.m., a shooting occurred on the 5200 block of Frankford Ave. in Northeast Philadelphia, police said.

He was transferred to Jefferson Frankford Hospital by a private vehicle and is expected to be transferred to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, according to authorities.

Police have secured the scene, and no weapons have been found nor have any arrests been made at this time. This investigation is being led by the Shooting Investigation Group, police said.

Just after 11:30 a.m., a double-shooting occurred on the 6200 block of Reedland in the Elmwood section of Southwest Philadelphia, leaving two people injured, according to police.

A 26-year-old man was shot multiple times throughout his body. The second victim, a 17-year-old woman, was also injured during the incident, authorities said. Both victims were transported by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, and were placed in stable condition upon arrival.
