A 41-year-old man was killed and at least four others were injured in violence Saturday and Sunday across Philadelphia.
The homicide victim was shot several times just after 7 p.m. Saturday on the 2000 block of E. Cheltenham Avenue in Wissinoming, according to police. He died of his injuries a short time later at Jefferson Frankford Hospital.
No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the killing, and authorities have not publicly identified the man.
On Sunday, at around 9:45 a.m., someone stabbed a 36-year-old man in his neck and lower stomach on the 1900 block of S. 7th Street in South Philadelphia, investigators said. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition, according to the PPD.
A man was also in critical condition after being shot in his neck and back just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday inside a house on the 600 block of E. Lippincott Street in Kensington, police said. Authorities indicated that the victim’s age was unknown.
Police said a 35-year-old man was stabbed once in his chest just after 11:30 p.m. Saturday on the 2100 block of 72nd Avenue in West Oak Lane. Officers took him to Einstein Medical Center with serious injuries, though he is expected to survive, investigators said.
Shots rang out at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday on the 4800 block of Tackawanna Street in Frankford, leaving a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his thigh, investigators said. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Homicides in Philadelphia are down nearly 40% compared to the same date last year, and the total number of shooting victims has fallen by about 36%, according to police data.
