1 killed, 2 injured in shootings, including 14-year-old boy

A man was killed and two other people, including a teenager, were wounded in shootings Sunday night into Monday.

Officers responded at around 9 p.m. Sunday to the 5100 block of Funston Street in the Mill Creek section of West Philadelphia, where they found a 54-year-old Robert Williams with gunshot wounds to his chest and back, authorities said.

Williams, who lived in East Germantown, was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he died a short time later, according to police.

A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized in critical condition after he was shot in his chest and back just before 8:15 p.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of N. 20th Street in North Philadelphia, investigators said.

No further information about the incident was released, and police did not provide an update when contacted Monday.

A few blocks away, on the 1700 block of N. 23rd street, someone shot a 46-year-old man in both of his legs at around 4:30 a.m. Monday, police said. He was taken to Temple University Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of any of the shootings.
