A man was killed and two other people were wounded in separate shootings late Tuesday and early Wednesday in Philadelphia.
Police said 33-year-old Toby Tyree Murphy was shot multiple times just before 9 p.m. Tuesday on the 200 block of Ashmead Street in East Germantown. Murphy, who lived in North Philadelphia, died a short time later at Einstein Medical Center, according to authorities.
No one was apprehended in the immediate aftermath of his killing.
Early Wednesday morning, around 4 a.m., a 26-year-old man showed up to Einstein with a gunshot wound to his right shoulder, investigators said. Police believe the shooting happened on the 600 block of W. Fisher Avenue in Olney.
The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A 17-year-old boy was shot in his knee after gunfire erupted just after 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at 16th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue, near Temple University’s main campus in North Philadelphia, authorities said.
Officers rushed the teenager to Temple University Hospital, where he was in stable condition, police said. At least one person was arrested and detectives recovered a gun, according to investigators.
