A man was killed and three other people were injured in separate shootings and stabbings Tuesday night and early Wednesday.

Police said a 24-year-old man was found dead at the scene after he was shot multiple times at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 700 block of W. Lycoming Street in the Hunting Park neighborhood.

Investigators reportedly believe that at least 40 shots were fired, and no one was apprehended in the immediate aftermath of the killing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the PPD’s Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or call or text 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Authorities have not publicly identified the victim. He was the 192nd person murdered in Philadelphia this year, down 40% compared to the same date in 2023, according to police data.

In Mayfair, seven men broke into an apartment and slashed a 42-year-old man in the face at around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday on the 3400 block of Englewood Street, police said.

The PPD said investigators are not sure whether the suspects took anything from the property. Authorities said the man was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries. No arrests have been reported.

Medics took a 41-year-old man to the hospital after he was stabbed once in his left shoulder at around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday inside a home on the 1000 block of Belmont Avenue in West Philadelphia, police said.

The victim is expected to recover. Officers apprehended a person of interest at the scene, according to authorities.

A 21-year-old woman was shot in the stomach at around 11 p.m. Tuesday outside on the 6100 block of Reach Street in Lawncrest, police said. She was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

Investigators said a gun was recovered in the area, but no one was arrested following the shooting.

Anyone with information about any of the violence is asked to call or text the PPD’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
