Four separate weekend shootings left a man dead and four other people wounded across Philadelphia.

Officers were called just before 5:45 p.m. Saturday to the 2100 block of N. Natrona Street in Strawberry Mansion, where they found a 49-year-old man with a fatal gunshot wound to his head and a 24-year-old woman who had been shot in her arm, police said.

The PPD initially characterized the incident as a homicide; however, investigators said Sunday the man’s wound was self-inflicted. Authorities said the female victim was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Further details about the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.

On Sunday, just before 5:30 a.m., a 20-year-old woman came into Temple University’s Jeanes Hospital after being shot in the right armpit, according to police. Detectives believe someone shot her on the 400 block of W. Ashdale Street in Olney.

The PPD said the victim was transferred to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

A 30-year-old man was shot multiple times while sitting inside a car just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday on the 3200 block of W. Lippincott Street in the Allegheny West section of North Philadelphia, authorities said.

Officers rushed him to Temple University Hospital, and police said he is expected to survive. Investigators found three 9mm spent cartridge casings at the scene.

Police arrested a 61-year-old man after a shooting early Saturday morning in Frankford.

Authorities said a 43-year-old man showed up at Jefferson Frankford Hospital at around 1:30 a.m. with a wound to his buttocks. The incident occurred earlier on the 2000 block of Granite Street, according to the PPD.

The victim’s injuries are not life-threatening, police added, and the department did not identify the suspect or a possible motive.

Anyone with information about any of the violence is asked to call or text the PPD’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
