A man was fatally shot inside a corner store Saturday evening in South Philadelphia, and six other people were wounded in shootings over the weekend across the city.

Police said a 37-year-old man died after being shot in the face and back at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday inside Mifflin Supermarket, a store located at 5th and Mifflin streets. No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of the killing.

On Sunday, officers were called just after 5 a.m. to the 5400 block of Race Street in West Philadelphia, where they found a 41-year-old woman with gunshot wounds to her shoulder and neck, authorities said.

She was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, a 40-year-old man showed up at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with a gunshot wound to his ribs, authorities said. He was listed in critical condition.

Investigators said the shooting occurred on the 1600 block of N. 52nd Street in Wynnefield.

A 24-year-old man was hospitalized after he was stabbed in the abdomen just before 2 a.m. Sunday on the 1500 block of Sansom Street in Center City, according to police. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

Someone shot a 31-year-old man in the back just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday on the 1500 block of W. Girard Avenue in North Philadelphia, authorities said. He was being treated at Temple University Hospital and is expected to survive.

Two women were injured following a stabbing that occurred at around 9 p.m. Saturday on the 1500 block of W. Pike Street in Nicetown.

Police said a 28-year-old woman was stabbed in the shoulder, wrist and forearm, and a 50-year-old woman suffered a wound to her wrist. Both were in stable condition.

In West Philadelphia, a 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and arm at around 7:15 p.m. Saturday on the 5200 block of Master Street, authorities said. He was rushed to Penn Presbyterian in critical condition.

Earlier, at around 2:30 p.m., a 33-year-old man was transported to the hospital after he was shot once in the arm on the 4200 block of Castor Avenue in Juniata, according to police. He is expected to physically recover.

Detectives are also investigating a shooting that occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Bridge and Hawthorne streets in Frankford.

A 49-year-old man was shot in the right leg and taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

Police did not report any arrests in connection with any of the incidents.
