The Philadelphia Flower Show has returned in 2025 to the Pennsylvania Convention Center (1101 Arch St.) with the theme of “Gardens of Tomorrow.” From March 1 to 9, visitors will be able to immerse themselves into all of the floral-themed offerings, and we’ve rounded up some can’t-miss elements of the annual event.

“Futura Florentia”

The entrance to the Flower Show is always showstopping, and this year is no different.  The theme will come right into play with “Futura Florentia”, and this section is meant to capture the idea of flowers as a symbol of the future while “evoking growth, beauty, and vitality in a natural, poetic style.”

“Future Flowers” Design Challenge

A staple in this year’s Show, the “Future Flowers” Design Challenge features debuts of four world-renowned, international floral artists showing off immersive displays. This year, the challenge will boast creations from Lily Beelen, Mike Boerma, Berit Laursen, and Ahti Lyra.

“Tomorrow’s Eden”

This “Visionary Two-Tiered Garden”  comes from Renowned Japanese designer Kazuyuki Ishihara. As a release describes, inspired by nature’s ability to adapt amid climate challenges, this grand, innovative exhibit highlights how interconnected landscapes can uplift and sustain one another, offering a hopeful vision for the future.

Know to Grow Series

The annual educational lecture series (which is free with a Flower Show ticket) will return this year with industry experts leading presentations on different subjects like garden design, vegetable gardening, native plants, container gardening, shade gardening, houseplants, and information on PHS programs. New to this year’s sessions are gardening experts curated by the Great Grow Along. A full schedule can be found online.

Shopping Experiences

There are over 200 vendors at this year’s Philadelphia Flower Show offering an array of plants, garden décor, and unique gifts. The Makers Market specifically is where creatives showcase handcrafted jewelry, home accents, and botanical-inspired art. Visitors can also stop by the PHS Shop for exclusive memorabilia and take a piece of the Flower Show home with them as well.

Kids Cocoon

This younger-focused play area holds a space where kids can plant seedlings, enjoy story time, and participate in activities and live programming from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, (excluding Sunday, March 9). As a release notes, in partnership with The Franklin Institute (TFI), Kids Cocoon will feature a Flower Show-themed version of TFI’s Creation Station, where children can create floral-inspired masterpieces using LEGO bricks.

Sunday, March 2 is also dubbed “Family Frolic” day, and this date specifically will be packed with even more kid-friendly fun and interactive experiences.

Flowers After Hours

This portion is perfect for those who want to party just as much as they want to see some florals. This “campy, cosmic adventure at the Flower Show after-hours dance party” blends 80s and 90s pop culture with futuristic aesthetics (tickets are required.) While there, visitors can enjoy a DJ lineup curated by SNACKTIME, plus alien-themed photo ops, galaxy-inspired cocktails, and a space fashion show.
