A 10-year-old boy in Juniata wanted to enjoy a cold treat Wednesday but instead got beamed in the face by an unknown assailant.

The boy had just stopped by a 7-Eleven at K and Luzerne streets at about 11:30 p.m. with his father and older brother when he was pelted with paintballs, CBS Philly reported.

The family had run into the store to grab some snacks and Slurpees, NBC Philadelphia said, and were leaving as a black SUV pulled up and shot paintballs at them, striking the 10-year-old in the face. He was left bleeding near his eye, but is expected to be fine.

Police told CBS that the suspect was wearing a mask and was the passenger in a green car that drove off south on K Street. There was no immediate motive.
