10-year-old shot in Tacony

A 10-year-old was shot in Tacony this evening.

The child, a white male, was hit in the back of the leg at Unruh Avenue and Marsden Street at 8:15 p.m. and taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital in stable condition.

A police spokeswoman said the exact circumstances of the shooting were still unclear, but that the boy was not the intended target.

Authorities are looking for a five-foot-eight black male wearing a black hat, gray hoodie and jeans armed with a 9mm handgun.

No arrests have yet been made.
