Philly’s museum of medical oddities is opening up its own pop-up beer garden to feature its own unique beer. The brew, Umlaut Fever, is a saison made with fennel and ginger, influenced by the herbs grown in the museum’s medical plant garden. Beer garden-goers will also have access to the “Mind Illuminated” exhibit.

For their most recent album, “Loved Wild Lost Summer,” Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers joined forces with producer Brian Deck, known for making records with Iron and Wine and Modest Mouse. The San Francisco-based group’s sound is an amalgam of folk, country, rock and blues, all wrapped up in a vintage/modern sound.

This close-knit band of women makes music that is not quite your typical indie alt-rock. Guitarist Hannah Mohan, drummer Rebecca Lasaponaro and synth keyboard player Megan Miller churn out unique vocal harmony, sprightly guitar riffs and off the beaten track percussion that almost instantly pleases the auditory palette. They recently released their debut album, “Turn to Each Other.”

Meg Baird is back with her first solo album in four years, “Don’t Weigh Down the Light.” A longtime staple in Philly’s music scene, you may know her from her work in the band Es-pers. Contrary to some of her past output, this latest record is rife with electric guitars, organ, piano, thudding drums, and of course Baird’s airy, whimsical voice.

It’s the end of the line for Alma when she gets caught shoplifting 16 ounce steaks. She’s an old hand at burglary, but this is the first time she’s had to face consequences. In this case, the shop’s security guard, Otto, relentlessly questions her though she insists she’s innocent. The dialogue in this fast-paced, comedic play has the stamp of a Monty Python sketch.

In “I was Going Home…,” Nataylia returns to her home town of Novosibirsk, to her 6-year-old son and her parents. Her old life in Moscow runs an abrupt contrast.
