Police have arrested the 16-year-old mother of a six-month old child who nearly drowned in a West Philadelphia bathtub Sunday night.
The woman reportedly left her son in the tub when she heard an argument
in another part of the house. When she returned, she found him
underwater and unresponsive. Medics were able to restore the child’s
vital signs and he was taken to CHOP in critical condition, where he
remains.
The mother is charged with endangering the welfare of a child and
reckless endangerment. Her identity will not be released due to her
age.
