2 dead, one wounded in Tuesday shootings across Philadelphia

Three separate shootings took place across Philadelphia on Tuesday, March 12, leaving two dead and another wounded, according to police.

Late Tuesday night, at around 11:30 p.m., someone shot a 26-year-old black male, who suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. Police responded to a call on the 900 block of Fanshawe Street for a person with a weapon, authorities said. Once on the scene, officers transported the victim to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries at 11:49 p.m.

The scene was held, and no weapon was recovered, but police do have a person of interest in custody. The investigation is active and ongoing with Philadelphia’s Homicide Detectives Division.

That same evening, Police responded to the 2100 block of South 61^st Street at 9:49 p.m. for a person with a gun and a male shot on the highway.

A 25-year-old black male was found on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds in his abdomen and was transported the victim to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by the PFD-Medic unit. He was placed in stable condition.

No weapon was recovered at the scene, and no arrest has been made at this time. The investigation is active and ongoing with the Shooting Investigation Group. According to police, authorities are looking for two black males in relation to the shooting.

Around 9:45 p.m. a 40-year-old black male suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head. Police responded to the 2900 block of West Oxford Street for a person with a weapon. Once on the scene, they transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 10:18 p.m.

No weapon was recovered at the scene, and no arrest at this time. This investigation is active and ongoing with Philadelphia Homicide Detectives Division.
