2 killed, 4 wounded in Philly shootings

Eight people were shot and several others were injured in stabbings Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia.

Officers were called to the 4800 block of N. Howard Street in Feltonville at around 6:15 a.m. Sunday morning and found a man and a woman dead outside with gunshot wounds to the head, authorities said.

Both victims were between the ages of 25 and 30, investigators said. The man had been shot twice, and the woman had a single gunshot wound, according to police. Detectives recovered a gun at the scene.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, which police are referring to as a double homicide.

Later on Sunday, at around 1:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man was grazed by a bullet near the corner of 2nd Street and Indiana Avenue in the Fairhill neighborhood, police said. He was being treated for a wound to his left arm.

Officers picked up a man with a gunshot wound to his left calf at around 11 a.m. Sunday from the 1800 block of S. Conestoga Street in Kingsessing and took him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

He allegedly told investigators he got drunk Saturday night and did not know where the shooting occurred. Investigators said he was being uncooperative.

A 35-year-old man was stabbed in the neck and face just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday on the 1300 block of Chestnut Street in Center City, police said. He was rushed to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition.

Police found a weapon, but no one has been apprehended.

In West Philadelphia, a 36-year-old woman was shot five times at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday near the corner of 56th Street and Wyalusing Avenue. Her injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, authorities said.

Also wounded was a 37-year-old man who she identified as the shooter, according to investigators. He sustained a gunshot wound to his right leg and was being treated at Penn Presbyterian.

Police said a 41-year-old man was stabbed four times, including in the head and back, at around 2 a.m. Sunday inside a property on the 500 block of Marwood Road in Olney.

Officers rushed him to Einstein Medical Center, and he is expected to survive, authorities said. No arrests were made, and detectives did not recover a weapon at the scene.

On Saturday, just after 11 p.m., a 26-year-old man was stabbed in the left side of his neck and both shoulders inside a house on the 4800 block of Stenton Avenue in East Germantown. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

A suspect was arrested, but police released no further information.

In Kensington, a man in his 20s was shot multiple times in the chest and torso just before 12:15 p.m. Saturday on the 600 block of E. Clementine Street. He was listed in critical condition at Temple University Hospital.

Authorities said a 26-year-old man was also in critical condition after being shot five times at 12:30 a.m. Saturday on the 2600 block of W. Montgomery Avenue in North Philadelphia.
