2024 Flyers Community Caravan Delights Gritizens of Tri-State Area This Summer

The Philadelphia Flyers Community Caravan rolled through the Jersey Shore last week. Fans of all ages were entertained by Gritty, in-arena hype man Everett Jackson, and the Flyers Ice Girls for the three days down by the boardwalks for the event now in its eighth-straight year.

Gritizens were able to compete in team-themed activities while collecting team merchandise such as keychains, coolers, and most importantly, Flyers bucket hats. Those hats seemed to be the hot item for everyone at the 2024 Development Camp

Flyers Alumni, such as Brian Propp and Bernie Parent, were also part of the visit to New Jersey that saw stops in North Wildwood, Ocean City, and Sea Isle City. While the “Shore Tour” is completed, the 2024 Community Caravan still has several upcoming dates scheduled throughout these warm summer months in the Tri-State region.

Caravan stops in PA

There are two stops for the Community Caravan program for this week—0n Wednesday, July 17, Gritty takes over Veterans Square and State Street in Media. The Flyers Ice Girls and friends then travel to the Northeast Skatezone on Saturday afternoon from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. for the next stop on the tour.

You never quite know who will be attending these Community outings. Active roster players Jamie Drysdale and Tyson Foerster appeared in Ocean City to the delight of the New Jersey crowd.

July ends with staycation at Flyers Training Center

A stay-cation on July 24 at the Flyers Training Center in Voorhees, New Jersey will be the sixth stop of the eight-city visit for the Community Caravan. That event will be a summer evening at the Flyers Skate Zone between 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Training Center is currently under renovation, however, the Flyers have a wide open space typically filled with an ice rink to host the 2024 Community Caravan events games and autograph sessions.

The 2024 Development Fan Festival that occurred before the camp-ending scrimmage included a long line of tables for the athletes, such as Oliver Bonk and Jett Luchanko, to sit at while autographing items and chatting up fans. Given the 2024 Flyers Community Caravan is at the same location, a similar setup with potential players and/or Alumni during the end of July could be a reasonable expectation.

On the road again

There is one stop in August as the Flyers will hit the road to Bensalem, Pennsylvania for Bensalem’s National Night Out on Aug. 6. On Sept. 14, the 2024 Flyers Community Caravan wraps up its travels at the University of Delaware four days before Training Camp begins on Sept. 18.

Philadelphia’s first pre-season contest in Montreal is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 23.
