3 Eagles storylines to watch during 2024 NFL Combine

The NFL Combine is just around the corner. With Howie Roseman and his band of merry scouts headed to Indianapolis, it’s time to look at what the Eagles should be prioritizing over the next week or so.

How to watch the NFL Combine:

What: NFL Combine
When: Tuesday, Feb. 27 – Sunday, March 3
Where: Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis
How: NFL Network will be televising workouts from Thursday, Feb. 29 to Sunday, March 3.

Clarity on coaching

Before the on-field action kicks off, both Nick Sirianni and Howie Roseman will speak to the media on Tuesday afternoon. It will be the first time hearing from both pivotal figures in the organization since just over a month ago, and a lot has changed since then.

Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio are on the staff so there are bound to be questions on the process of hiring both guys, but there have also been some subtle changes, including a ‘Head Coach Quality Control’ role. Any idea what that means? Neither do I, but hopefully we’ll get some clarity on the refreshed staff and what the vision is for the Eagles in 2024, as well as potentially some hints at what areas Roseman is looking to prioritize this offseason.

Chain reaction

Free Agency is on the horizon and the Eagles have some tricky decisions to make. Players who have been pillars on the team for over a decade such as Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham could be bidding their last goodbyes, while the entire backfield with the exception of Kenny Gainwell is set to hit the open market.

Then, there’s Kevin Byard, who feels almost destined to be released in order to free up some hefty cap space. The strategy this offseason will largely depend on how these dominos fall.

Should the Eagles be eyeing up an agile back like Trey Benson, or a back deeper in the draft such as Tennessee’s Jaylen Wright?

Will they finally invest some capital into the Linebacker and Safety spots? If this is to be the year of change, it’s down to the prospects to really steal Roseman’s heart, and that all starts at the combine.

Georgia Bulldog legacy

The Eagles have infamously targeted Georgia Bulldogs over the last two years. The Birds have drafted five former Bulldogs over the past two seasons, while also trading for Georgia alumni, D’Andre Swift. Which players could be under the microscope this year who fit the teams needs?

Start studying some film, Eagles fans. There’s a strong chance we see another Bulldog or two headed to the City of Brotherly Love in 2024.
