3 women shot riding SEPTA bus in West Philadelphia

Three women were wounded in a triple shooting that occurred on a SEPTA bus Tuesday in West Philadelphia.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., on a SEPTA Route “G” bus, shots were fired as the bus was on South 57th Street. Among those wounded was a 29-year-old, who was shot once in the right buttocks, a 60-year-old, who suffered a graze wound to the right side of her head, and a 56-year-old, who was shot once in the lower back, according to police.

Philadelphia Police arrived on the scene after the shooting and transported the victims to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where they were treated and placed in stable condition, according to authorities.

No arrests have been made, and no weapons have been recovered at this time.

Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the gunman. The suspect is described as a Black male with a medium build, medium brown complexion, and shoulder-length dreadlocks with a light beard. He was last seen wearing a black Under Armour zip-up jacket over a white t-shirt, black pants, gray sneakers, and a blue surgical mask, police said.

Police consider this suspect to be armed and dangerous, and the Philadelphia police department urges anyone who sees this suspect to avoid approaching him and immediately call 911.
