At least four people were wounded in separate violent incidents over the weekend across Philadelphia.
In Kensington, officers rushed a man to Temple University Hospital after he was stabbed at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the 3100 block of Kensington Avenue, according to authorities. The PPD said he was hospitalized in critical condition with a wound to his lower back.
Investigators said a suspect was taken into custody at the scene, though no further details were released.
Two men were injured when gunfire erupted at around 3:15 a.m. Saturday at 17th and Luzerne streets in Nicetown, police said.
Authorities said a 26-year-old man was shot twice in his left leg and once in his right leg. The other victim, also a 26-year-old man, was struck in his right leg, according to investigators. Both are expected to survive, the PPD added.
About an hour earlier, at 2:15 a.m. Saturday, someone shot a 29-year-old man in his arm on the 2200 block of N. 53rd Street in Wynnefield, police said. He was hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries.
The PPD said no arrests were made in the immediate aftermath of either shooting, and there was no word on possible motives. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
