4 wounded in weekend shootings, stabbing across Philadelphia

Four people were injured in violence over the weekend in Philadelphia, police said.

Two people were hospitalized after gunfire erupted at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday on the 100 block of Diamond Street in North Philadelphia, according to authorities.

A 41-year-old man suffered eight gunshot wounds and was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, investigators said. The other victim, a 19-year-old woman, was shot three times in her arm, and her injuries are not expected to be life threatening, police said.

In Point Breeze, someone stabbed a 35-year-old man in the neck at around 6:30 a.m. Saturday on the 1400 block of Morris Street, according to the PPD. Authorities said he was transported to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition.

Earlier, at around 1 a.m. Saturday, a 16-year-old boy was shot in his right leg on the 4800 block of N. 5th Street in Olney, investigators said. He was later listed in stable condition at Einstein Medical Center.
