Looking for some fun and unique things to do for 4th of July Weekend in Philadelphia? We’ve got you covered.

Museum of the American Revolution

The MoAR will be spending the holiday (and the days leading up to and following it) showcasing new tours, programs and experiences. For one, locals can take part in Neighborhood Walking Tours and Guided Gallery Tours (happening daily) inspired by the venue’s special exhibition ‘Witness to Revolution.’ Speaking of, visitors can also stop by ‘Witness’ to view the Museum’s award-winning Washington’s War Tent film, which “brings to life the stories of those who saved George Washington’s tent from being lost over time.”

The MoAR will also have some figures of history onsite, with a “Meet Joseph Plumb Martin” event happening on July 4, and a “Meet Elizabeth Freeman” event on July 5, 6 and 7. The Museum’s family-friendly discovery center, Revolution Place, will be open daily throughout the week with different activities as well. Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic 

The fan-favorite musical event of the summer returns this week in Philadelphia. Taking place on Thursday, July 4, the experience will feature Nelson, along with Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Maren Morris, Mavis Staples, Celisse, and Bowen Young. The stage will be set at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden (doors open at 1 p.m.) and tickets (various prices) are on sale now via ticketmaster.com.

W Philadelphia

For Fourth of July weekend in Philadelphia, locals can head to the W Philadelphia’s Wet Deck this Thursday to check out Porkroll (aka the DJ duo known for their LGBTQ+ dance parties) from noon to 7 p.m. And SOUVENIR, a fashion collaborator by Richmond Tan, will host a neighboring retail pop-up featuring designers and artists from Philadelphia and beyond at the venue as well, a release notes. 

While there, locals can also check out the WET Bar’s newly launched summer cocktail menu featuring new concoctions like the Summer G&T with a house-made rosemary-blueberry syrup and the Tiki Latte with pineapple, super kumquat, simple syrup, espresso oil and orange bitters. Rooms are also available for those in need of a staycation at the W into the weekend as well. Note, to gain access to the Wet Deck this Thursday, visitors can rent a cabana, get a spa service or book a room (day passes are available for other dates, but not the 4th.)

 Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History

Locals and visitors can get prime seating to the city’s Fourth of July parade when heading to the Weitzman this Thursday, as the venue will be hosting a viewing party followed by a day filled with fun for all ages. The parade will be in full swing on July 4, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and afterwards, families can stick around to partake in sensory-friendly play with Adoughma Play, make-and-take Fourth of July crafts, a self-paced scavenger hunt, interactive musical performances with Two of a Kind and more.

The Weitzman will offer extended hours for the holiday weekend (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) until July 7 as well. After that date, the Weitzman will return to Thursday through Sunday summer hours.

Jezabel’s

For the Fourth of July weekend in Philadelphia, locals can find Jezabel’s at a new pop-up location in Spring Garden beginning this Thursday. On July 4, Jezabel’s “Grill Fest” will begin at Triple Bottom Brewery (they will be on site until 2 p.m. or once they sell-out), and continue throughout the next few days (July 5, from 5 to 9 p.m., plus July 6 and 7, from 2 to 8 p.m.)

The special menu being offered spans fire baked empanadas, an Argentine grilled flat steak, a burnt Argentine crepe with dulce de leche and grilled New Jersey peaches and more.
