Enjoying America’s most walkable city

GETTY IMAGES

Philadelphia was recently named America’s most walkable city for tourists by USA Today for the second consecutive year. There’s so much to do and to see in the City of Brotherly Love, including many notable spots you can enjoy free of charge.

Earlier this summer, Metro Philadelphia released a guide for walking around America’s most walkable city, citing several notable stops that pedestrians can enjoy without cost.

The legendary stairs of the Philadelphia Museum of Art offer one of the best views of the city. If you’re looking for a more level walk, Rittenhouse Square provides a scenic and peaceful experience. With a bevy of beautiful sculptures and fountains, there’s plenty to enjoy either on foot or from a park bench at this picturesque park.

One also can’t forget Spruce Street Harbor Park, which features plenty of hammocks, floating gardens, and beautiful scenery to make a summer day that much better. Enjoy a walk up and down the Delaware River in relaxed fashion.
