Things to do in Philly this month, September 2018

Philly Naked Bike Ride 2018

Yes, there are messages of body positivity and cycle safety to be found here, but, honesty, the Philly Naked Bike Ride – now in its 10th year – lives and dies by the motto given to us by the great George Clinton: free your bum and your mind will follow. Strip down and bike it.

Sept. 8, 5 p.m., various locations, free, philadelphianakedbikeride.wordpress.com/faq

Hispanic Heritage Month starts

In a city rich with diverse Latino communities and civic pride, one month’s tribute hardly scratches the surface. Though HHM begins Sept. 15, the 34th annual Feria del Barrio (Sept. 23) is a great center point: a food and music-filled collaboration between Taller Puertorriqueño (Taller), Congreso de Latinos Unidos (Congreso), HACE, and Raíces Culturales Latinoamericanas (Raíces).

Sept. 15, various locations

Drake & Migos

The sing-songy Canadian behind 2018’s “Scorpion” – the record that busted Spotify’s one-day global record with 132.45 million streams – and Atlanta rappers Takeoff, Quavo and Cardi B’s husband, Offset, march into Philly with their joint Aubrey & The Three Amigos  tour.

Sept. 15-16, 8 p.m., Wells Fargo Center, 3601 S Broad St. ,$49.50+, wellsfargocenterphilly.com

Philly AIDS Thrift 13th Anniversary Block Party

More than a used bargain shop, Philly AIDS Thrift is a way of life dedicated to healing and helping and funding all HIV/AIDS-related causes. Plus, at this party, you’ll get celebrity dunk tanks, sword swallowing with MacKenzie Moltov, live circus arts from Squidling Brothers and more.

Sept. 22, noon, along 5th and Bainbridge St. free, facebook.com/events/1087666141387730

Feastival

After a long, hard Fringe Festival of performance art and modernist theater (look for our Best of the Fest Guide Sept. 6), you’ll need something hearty to eat, and fascinating to sip,  Plus, the Fringe will need completion funds in which to pay the acts and local stages.  Feastival takes care of the latter while hosting – for the first time – newly paired-up chefs cooking freshly-minted menu items solely available during this charitable culinary bash.

Sept. 27, 6 pm (VIP), 7 p.m. (GA), FringeArts HQ, 140 N. Columbus Blvd., $300+, phillyfeastival.com
