River Twice Pop-Up
High Street on Market teams up with East Passyunk BYOB River Twice for a dinner that revolves around pizza. Known for their bread program and pastries, the two restaurants are the perfect pairing for trying artisan pizza with unique flavor pairings. For the pop-up’s pies, choose between a miso-mushroom and white pizza with bottarga. The dinner includes appetizers, diner’s choice of, and dessert. Linda Sarsour
Civil rights activist Linda Sarsour comes to Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee and Books in Germantown while on tour for her new memoir “We Are Not Here to Be Bystanders”. Sarsour is a Palestinian Muslim American whose journey to becoming a community organizer started young, including during her childhood in Brooklyn, NY. Sarsour is known as the former national co-chair for the Women’s March on Washington, the largest single-day protest in U.S. history. Her work has been recognized with prestigious awards including a Champion of Change award from the Obama administration. Temple University professor and former CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill, who owns Uncle Bobbie’s, will join Sarsour to discuss her life and activism. General admission tickets are free, or pay $28 for reserved seats and a signed book.

Purim: Party Like a Queen
As history progresses, the Jewish holiday Purim has become a feminist holiday that celebrates the ancient queens who played significant roles in saving the Jewish people from massacre. The Penn Museum puts a queer twist on the celebrations with drag queen performances, arts and crafts and a “Yas Queen” scavenger hunt. Attendees will also have the opportunity to go on a special highlight tour of the museum to see some of the artifacts in a new context. The event also features a donation drive for Gloria Casarez Residence, an LGBTQ+ community housing space for young adults. Donation items include toiletries, liquid laundry detergent and pet supplies.

Orin Swift Wine Dinner
Enjoy a five-course prix-fixe dinner highlighting Italian cuisine and wines from California winery Orin Swift Cellars. The menu includes a Brandt ribeye with exotic mushrooms and a black garlic chimichurri, purple sweet potato gnocchi with duck confit and octopus with fingerling potatoes and olive tapenade. Each course will be expertly paired with one of the featured wines, and learn more about the wines with special guest Amanda Vespasiani of Breakthru Beverage.
