October Ghost Tours 

With Halloween right around the corner, there are plenty of spooky happenings occurring around the City of Brotherly Love during the month of October. Join in on one of the most unique tours in Philly and uncover burial grounds, haunted mansions, unsolved mysteries and much more. This candlelit tour will be happening nightly throughout the month of October; tours depart every night from Signers’ Garden at 5th and Chestnut streets. Any Philadelphian who wants to join in on all of the ghostly fun can save $5 on tickets by signing up online.

First Friday

On the first Friday of each month Old City’s galleries, studios, shops and restaurants open their doors for First Friday, a unique and memorable exhibition of the neighborhood’s vibrant arts scene. Guests can stroll around the streets while checking out everything the historic and charming Old City area has to offer during this year-round annual extravaganza. All of the galleries, studios, shops, bars and restaurants participating are offering drink specials, delicious food, live music and much more.

Brian Sanders’ “2ND SANCTUARY”

It’s finally getting spooky in the City of Brotherly Love and with the coming of Halloween in just a few short weeks there is plenty to do and see, including the exclusive debut of Brian Sanders’ “2ND SANCTUARY.” The multisensory, multi-space experience takes place in an abandoned 19th-century Victorian church and celebrates the Rite of Fall and the Spirits of the 1970s. “2ND SANCTUARY” will be open exclusively in Philadelphia and will run until Nov. 3. This one-of-a-kind show is perfect for those looking for an alternative way to celebrate the fall season.

Hugh Jackman

The Australian heartthrob is coming to Philly to perform some of his greatest hits from his most notable roles. Audiences can hear Jackman belt out songs from “Les Miserables,” “The Greatest Showman” and more all while a live orchestra backs him up. This incredible show will be in the City of Brotherly Love for one night only at the Wells Fargo Center.

Mt. Airy Supper Sessions

Mt. Airys’ signature food and drink festival announced their new schedule for the fall season, and all the fun will now take place right on Germantown Avenue. Eleven of the area’s top bars and restaurants will be setting up tables and chairs along the street while serving up enticing dishes, savory bites and sweet treats. There will also be a few popular food trucks offering delectable culinary options as well. Also returning to the Supper Sessions this year is the popular “Go Cup.” According to a release, the collectible stainless steel cups are a fundraiser for Mt. Airy CDC. The $10 cost per cup helps support the event while earning the buyer drink specials at the five bars on the block — Earth, McMenamin’s, Nonna, Grain Exchange, and Milo — all fall during Supper Sessions. This event happening Wednesday will be the last of the season.
