Christmas Carol Sing-a-long w/ Sly Fox!

If you haven’t had the opportunity to go caroling this holiday season, Varga Bar in Washington Square West is hosting the party for you. Get together with fellow carolers for a night of jolly singing fueled by $5 Sly Fox beer specials, including the Christmas Ale. They will also have a couple of signature dishes for the night as well as whiskey specials for getting extra festive. Holiday attire like ugly Christmas sweaters and festive accessories is strongly encouraged.

Cirque Dreams Holidaze

See stunning acrobatics and circus arts with a festive twist. Cirque Dreams Holidaze brings a winter wonderland to the Merriam Theater for just a few days. See angels fly over a land of gifts and candy canes, and get excited for gingerbread cookies fipping across the stage. In addition to the choreography and tricks, more than 300 costumes will leave everyone dazzled. The show also includes live performances of your favorite holiday songs and an original musical.

MATZOBALL

Singles, get ready for a night just for you. MATZOBALL is a national holiday party to help you look for love over the holidays. Their party in Philly takes place at Voyeur Nightclub. Buy tickets for yourself, or get a package to make it a night out with your friends. Though event primarily attracts Jewish singles, people of all backgrounds and ethnicities are encouraged to attend.

Boxing Day at the Pub

Old City’s own British pub The Victoria Freehouse brings this quintessential British holiday to life with a special menu. Relax on the day after Christmas with drink specials and comfort food. The pub opens at 9 a.m. to start serving a Full English Breakfast ($12), a British staple which includes eggs, baked beans, tomatoes and more. Come later in the day for a Sunday Pub Roast ($18) with roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and horseradish sauce.

Sounds of the Irish Revolution

Add a trip to the Museum of the American Revolution to your holiday itinerary. The museum will have special performances of 18th-century Irish music in the museum’s Cross Keys Cafe each day from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 26-30. These performances add more enrichment to the museum’s special exhibition, “Cost of Revolution: The Life and Death of an Irish Soldier”, as you listen to the traditional music that the Irish soldier would have heard in his homeland. Participating musicians include New York-based violinist Caitlin Warbelow and harpist Tepper Ellen.
