At least five people were wounded in shootings Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia.
Police were called to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center at around 7 a.m. Sunday, when a 31-year-old man showed up with a gunshot wound to his chest, according to authorities.
Investigators said the shooting occurred on the 1200 block of W. Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia. The victim was listed in stable condition.
Someone shot a 19-year-old man in his left leg at around 1:15 a.m. Sunday on the 3500 block of Kensington Avenue in the Harrowgate neighborhood, police said. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
On Saturday, at around 3:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man was shot in his back on the 2500 block of Harold Street in North Philadelphia, authorities said. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
Two men were hospitalized following a shooting Saturday morning in West Philadelphia, and one of them is expected to face charges.
A 34-year-old man was shot once in the torso at around 8 a.m. on the 1300 block of S. Melville Street, near the former University of the Sciences campus, police said. During the exchange, he hit the suspected shooter in the head with a bat, according to investigators.
Authorities said the shooting victim is expected to survive, while the other man, who was arrested, was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with a head injury.
In Logan, gunfire left a 32-year-old man with wounds to his elbow and leg just before 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the 1700 block of Windrim Avenue, police said. He was later listed in stable condition at Einstein Medical Center.
