5 ways to spend Father’s Day in Philly

He has enough ties, you never buy him the right golf balls and Mom won’t let him smoke cigars anymore. Instead of wrapping up a gift for Father’s Day, give dad an experience out and about in the city. One size fits all, and some even include bacon.

On June 19, the Phillies are combining two classic American dad pastimes: watching baseball and wearing embarrassing Hawaiian shirts. The shirt is free thanks to a promotion from Chevrolet, but if you want to make the game extra-special, consider upgrading to a VIP package at McFadden’s. For $45 each, you’ll get a ticket to the game, a two-hour pre-game domestic draft open bar, an appetizer or sandwich, and a two-hour post-game happy hour. Obviously, you’ll also want to factor in the cost of an Uber.

Jose Garces got right down to business for Father’s Day over at Village Whiskey. In addition to the usual burgers and booze, on June 19, the Center City restaurant will offer a special bacon-and-bourbon pairing. Available all day, the line-up includes five house-cured bacons, each matched with its own bourbon for $30. Who’s the favorite child? You are.

If Dad’s an art lover, consider buying him a membership to the Art Museum this year. Starting at $75, perks include general admission, as well as access to special events and exhibits. Ready for a Beer Week encore already?
