$50K in Collectible Coins Stolen from Car in Northeast

$50,000 in collectible coins were stolen from a car in Northeast Philadelphia yesterday morning.

A man, 54, was on his way to a coin show when his tire went flat. He parked near the Sears Auto Center on the 2100 block of Cottman Avenue near Kindred Street and went inside.

When he came out shortly before 9:30 a.m., he noticed the front passenger-side window of his car was broken and a black satchel and green roll-along bag were missing. The bags contained $50,000 worth of coins and about $2,000 in cash.

No arrests have been made.
