6 killed in weekend shootings

Six people were killed in shootings over the weekend in Philadelphia, and several others were wounded by gunfire.

Just before 11:15 a.m. Sunday, a 22-year-old man was shot multiple times in the face on the 2000 block of W. Cambria Street in North Philadelphia, police said.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he died a short time later, according to authorities.

A 30-year-old man was shot multiple times at around 9:45 p.m. Saturday on the porch of a house on the 2500 block of W. Montgomery Avenue, also in North Philadelphia, investigators said. He died minutes later.

Two men were killed and another was critically wounded when gunfire erupted at around 9:15 p.m. Saturday inside a deli on the 2600 block of N. 12th Street in North Philadelphia, authorities said.

A 30-year-old man who was shot several times died at Temple University Hospital following the shooting, as did another man, whose age was not released as of Sunday. He was shot in the right armpit, investigators said.

The third victim, a 29-year-old man, was hospitalized with wounds to his left calf, right shoulder and right shin. He was listed in critical condition, according to police.

Officers recovered a gun from one of the victims, but authorities did not report any arrests in the triple shooting.

A 54-year-old man was pronounced dead just before 1 p.m. Saturday in Kensington. Investigators said he was found on the 2200 block of Cambria Street with a gunshot wound to his head and several to his body.

In Hunting Park, a 34-year-old man died after being shot in the chest just after 6 a.m. Saturday on the 3800 block of Old York Road in Hunting Park, police said.

On Sunday, just after 1:45 a.m., a 33-year-old man was shot twice in the right leg on the 2600 block of S. 2nd Street in South Philadelphia, according to authorities.

He was later listed in stable condition at Jefferson Methodist Hospital.

A 25-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday on the 2000 block of N. Gratz Street in North Philadelphia. His injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.

Authorities said a 21-year-old woman was shot in the buttocks just after 8 p.m. Saturday on the 100 block of Farston Street in West Philadelphia. She is expected to physically recover.

Early Saturday, just before 1 a.m., a 33-year-old man was shot eight times in the legs on the 2900 block of W. York Street in Strawberry Mansion, investigators said.

Officers rushed him to Temple University Hospital, where he was in critical condition.

Shots were fired at around 12:30 a.m. Saturday on the 100 block of W. Chelten Avenue in Germantown, leaving a man and a woman wounded, according to police.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and right arm, and he was transported to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition.

The other victim, a 42-year-old woman, was shot twice in the left leg. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening, authorities said.

Police did not report any arrests in connection with the weekend’s shootings.
