Seven people were wounded, including a teenage girl, when more than 50 shots were fired during a gathering early Saturday morning in North Philadelphia, investigators said.
The shooting happened just before 3:30 a.m. on the 1100 block of W. Cumberland Street, according to authorities.
A crowd had assembled in the area for what police described as an “Instagram party.” Two men at the event had a dispute, and some people began to leave, investigators said. One of the men involved in the argument returned a short time later and opened fire, the PPD added.
Authorities said a 16-year-old girl was shot in the chest and taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition.
Three men – ages 20, 22 and 25 – sustained gunshot wounds, and three women – ranging in age from 21 to 30 – were also shot, investigators said. All six adult victims were hospitalized with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to police.
Officers found 57 spent shell casings from three different caliber guns at the scene, and at least one firearm was recovered, authorities said. But no arrests have been reported in connection with the mass shooting.
