7 injured in separate shootings across Philadelphia

In addition to the mass shooting in Feltonville that left five people wounded, seven others were wounded in separate gun violence incidents late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

Authorities said a man, described as around 30 years old, was shot multiple times just before 5:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 5400 block of Summer Street in West Philadelphia.

He sustained wounds to his back, groin and right leg, and officers rushed him to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition, according to police.

Two women were struck when gunfire erupted at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 2200 block of W. Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia, authorities said.

Police said a 21-year-old woman was shot in her left arm, and a 22-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her right shoulder. Both were hospitalized in critical condition. Investigators described the suspect as a man wearing a dark baseball cap, multicolored shirt and blue jeans.

A pizza delivery driver reportedly shot a gunman who was trying to rob him late Tuesday night in Chestnut Hill.

The gunfire occurred on Tuesday just before midnight on the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue, according to authorities. The driver shot one of the two suspects, a 23-year-old man, once in his buttocks, police said.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center with nonlife-threatening injuries and is expected to face charges, authorities said. The other suspect fled the scene.

Just after 10 p.m.Tuesday, someone shot a 28-year-old man in his right forearm on the 1900 block of W. Somerset Street in North Philadelphia, police said. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

A few hours earlier, at around 7:30 p.m., a 26-year-old man was shot on the same block, according to authorities. He was hospitalized in stable condition with a gunshot wound to his left arm.

A 15-year-old boy was shot once in his right thigh just before 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on the 2200 block of Glenview Street in the Castor Gardens section of Northeast Philadelphia, according to authorities. He was transported to Einstein Medical Center and is expected to physically recover.

Investigators said the shooter was driving a white SUV and wearing a black mask and black hooded sweatshirt with green writing.

No one was arrested in the immediate aftermath of any of the shootings.
