76ers sale complete, includes Will and Jada Smith

Joshua Harris, a graduate of Wharton in his mid-40s, will be a front man owner along with Abington native Adam Aron, in a group ownership that includes among a list of more than 10 investors, one of Philadelphia’s biggest celebrity natives, Will Smith and his wife.

When asked moments ago in an ongoing press conference today at the Palestra at the University of Pennsylvania, Harris said he will work “behind the scenes” on player personnel decisions but that current team President Rod Thorn will be “captain of the ship.”

“This is not just a financial investment,” Harris said. “It’ll be a night job.”

Aron, former CEO of Vail Resorts, who took the stage with Harris today, said the Sixers will immediately lower most ticket prices and that “it’s our task to bring that enthusiam back to the Wells Fargo Center” and that the team will “dramatically enchance fan experience” during the games.
