9 injured in shootings Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia

At least nine people were wounded in separate shootings Saturday and Sunday in Philadelphia.

Just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday, a man arrived at Temple University Hospital after being shot in his thigh near the corner of Broad and Clearfield streets in North Philadelphia, according to authorities. His injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

Police said a 38-year-old man drove himself to Nazareth Hospital after he was shot just before 2 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot between Four Seasons Diner and McDonald’s at Cottman Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard in Mayfair.

He suffered gunshot wounds to his forearm and both knees, and authorities said he is expected to survive.

Someone shot a 25-year-old man twice in his left thigh and once in his right leg at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of Hart Lane in Kensington, police said. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

Less than 30 minutes earlier, a 46-year-old man was shot once in his back on the 1300 block of E. Carey Street in the Harrowgate neighborhood, according to authorities. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized with a wound to his right knee after shots were fired just before 12:15 a.m. Sunday on the 7100 block of Tulip Street in Tacony, investigators said. He was later listed in stable condition.

In nearby Wissinoming, a man in his 20s was shot in the face at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday in the driveway behind houses on the 5400 block of Walker Street, authorities said.

Officers rushed him to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was in critical condition, police said.

At around the same time, just before 10:45 p.m., a 27-year-old man was shot twice in his upper leg on the 2600 block of N. 4th Street in Fairhill, authorities said. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police said a 51-year-old man was struck in his foot after shots were fired at around 10 p.m. Saturday on the 5200 block of N. Warnock Street in Logan.

Earlier in the day, at around 5 p.m., also in Logan, someone shot a 20-year-old man in his buttocks on the 4500 block of N. 17th Street, investigators said. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police did not report any arrests in the immediate aftermath of any of the weekend’s shootings.
