Mr. Carmack at Otherworld Philly

Otherworld Philly opened as a “mixed-reality playground” in 2023, and throughout its 55 rooms, locals have been able to explore immersive art experiences. But recently, the venue has announced plans for its latest addition, and it all surrounds live music.

On Jan. 18, the venue will host EDM veteran Mr. Carmack for its first concert. The inaugural event will mark the first of many musical experiences for Otherworld, and guests will also have access to the concept’s full exhibit while there. For its newly added musical element, tickets are currently on sale for $30 to see the DJ, who in recent years has sold out tours on five continents. The performer has shared stages with the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Just Blaze, Cashmere Cat, and Diplo.

This show (8 p.m.) is a 21+ event, select food and beverage options (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will also be available for purchase.

‘Slay and the City: A Killer Cosmo’

A new show is opening from Without a Cue, and this one is perfect for all Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda fans. ‘Slay and the City: A Killer Cosmo’ is a mystery spoof on the wildly popular HBO show ‘Sex and the City’ from the immersive theater company. Opening night is set for this Saturday, Jan. 18.

Written by Traci Connaughton and held at the organization’s Red Rum Theater, it will be up to audiences to solve the conundrum in this original experience. Themed drinks by Pops McCann (including signature cosmos, flirtinis and more) will be available via a cash bar during each performance, and tickets ($35 GA, $75 VIP) are available now online. VIP tickets also include a complimentary cocktail, a packet of clues and a gift.

This unique experience will run through the end of February with shows every Saturday (5 and 8 p.m.) and Sunday (3 p.m.) at Philadelphia’s “only event venue dedicated to the art of murder mystery.”
