A ‘Game of Thrones’ musical parody is coming to Philadelphia

The early bird catches the worm, and in the case of “Musical Thrones: A Parody of Ice and Fire,” a musical parody of the popular HBO show “Game of Thrones,” you better snag your tickets now for their February dates in Philly.

The hilariously popular show comes to the Suzanne Roberts Theatre via the Philadelphia Theatre Company (PTC) from Feb. 9-10, 2018, for its 30-city tour.

“Game of Thrones is a world-wide cultural phenomenon with fans of every age,” says PTC producing artistic director Paige Price. “What better way is there to introduce theatre to new audiences than through a Thrones parody? One of our goals for this season was to present a wider variety of options to Philadelphia theatre-goers and we are intentionally offering shows for audiences who may never have considered stepping through our doors. We want audiences to know that live theatre is for everyone. Plus, it’s my sense that the world could use a little bit of fun these days!”

We could all definitely use a little fun these days, especially in the smack dab of winter. With musical numbers featuring Daenerys, a dragon, Joffrey and the rest of the members of the Lannister and Stark families, you’ll be laughing so hard that your winter blues will simply melt away.

In between performances on Saturday, Center City bars will also be hosting a “Game of Thrones”-themed bar crawl. More details will be announced.
