Coming to the shore this summer is the return of AirFest. The signature event of Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum has become a favorite summertime tradition and is expected to reach greater heights than ever.
AirFest will take place Thursday, Aug. 28, through Sunday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Celebrating its 29th year, the event continues to grow in both size and popularity, and has led to new and continued partnerships, including partnerships with the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach and Vintage Wings, Inc. Through these partnerships, AirFest continues to have more stunning aircraft featured, and this year, the lineup is historic.
Among the highlights will be the Messerschmitt Me 262, the world’s first operational jet fighter and one of the most advanced combat aircraft during World War II. It was capable of flying over 500 mph and forever changed air combat.

Those attending AirFest will have the opportunity to witness “Whistling Death,” otherwise known as the Goodyear FG-1D Corsair, the C-53 “Beach City Baby,” a rare troop transport that has been restored inside and out, and even offers touring opportunities.
Also appearing is the Fuji LM-1 “Nikko,” a rare Japanese postwar trainer that has just three airworthy models left in the U.S. The SNJ (AT-6 Texan), a staple at past celebrations, is returning for this year’s AirFest. The aircraft represents the thousands of pilots who trained here during the war. This year will also feature plenty of Navy helicopters, adding to the fun.

AirFest 2025 will also feature food trucks, vendors, live music, and more, providing something for everyone in the family. Tickets are $18 for adults, $14 for kids ages 3 through 12, and free for children two and younger and active military members with identification.
All aircraft attendance and scheduling are subject to change based on mission requirements, weather conditions, and maintenance needs. For more information on AirFest or the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum, visit usnasw.org.
