‘All good’ Collins expected back on the Sixers’ bench

Back on Memorial Day, Sixers coach Doug Collins fainted at a coffee shop in Arizona due to low blood pressure. He cracked three ribs and suffered a concussion. Now he knows how DeSean Jackson feels.

More than five months later, Collins is still feeling the effects of that concussion. He has been suffering from vertigo and was forced to watch the second half of Wednesday’s win from the bench. Top assistant Michael Curry manned the clipboard.

“These football players now, I understand what they deal with,” Collins said. “But it’s all good.”

Things still aren’t looking good for the Sixers at 1-4, but they are looking better after finally getting in the win column. The host Cleveland (1-3) on Friday

Barring an unexpected setback, the Sixers confirmed that Collins will be back on the bench.

Elton Brand lost more than 25 pounds this offseason, and it’s showing.
Through five games, Brand is averaging 18.0 points and 9.6 rebounds while shooting a gaudy 56.1 percent from the field. He has also been more active at the defensive end, as he leads the team in steals and blocks.

Start me up?
Jason Kapono started the first two games at small forward, a plan that was quickly scrapped when the sharpshooter proved to be a massive liability in all other aspects of the game.
Now Kapono is barely playing while Andres Nocioni is starting.
