Alone at the top for Big D

Sheldon Brown bit on a Tony Romo pump fake. Andy Reid bit on clock management once again.

The Eagles coach burned through his timeouts and was forced to sit and watch as the Cowboys ran the clock out and escaped with a 20-16 victory last night at Lincoln Financial Field.

Reid blew through two timeouts in the span of two plays and lost two challenges. Meanwhile, Romo hit Miles Austin with a 42-yard bomb to provide the final margin.

First, the coach stopped the clock to re-shuffle Wildcat personnel in the third quarter. On the next play, he challenged the spot of the ball. Replays didn’t agree with Reid and the Eagles were forced to punt.

Then, Reid was shot down on a crucial fourth-and-one call in the fourth. Donovan McNabb ran up the gut, but was stuffed at the line of scrimmage. Reid challenged and was rebuked by the officials once again.
