Scan the rumor mills. There is a feeling out there that this is the year the Sixers finally trade Andre Iguodala.
After the team went 3-4 without Iguodala (Achilles tendonitis) over the last two weeks, including narrow losses against the Lakers and Pistons, those rumblings grew louder. Even Iguodala appeared to sense how well the team has been playing in his absence.
“I don’t want to come back and mess up those other guy’s flow,” he said.
But to coach Doug Collins, Iguodala brings more to the court than meets the average eye.
“I understand what Andre brings to our team,” said Collins before last night’s game against the Pacers. “I think he’s one of those guys that when you miss him, and he’s not out there, the little holes that he plugs out there for you become gaping wounds.”
Iguodala returned to the lineup last night after two weeks off. He finished with just one point and four rebounds in 33 minutes.
