The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects responsible for armed robberies of banks this weekend.
The FBI has released surveillance photos of the suspects, who hit two banks in the NorthwestPhilly area Saturday morning within 90 minutes of each other.
Just before 10:30 a.m., a man armed with a handgun entered the Citizens Bank at 8616 Germantown Ave. in Chestnut Hill, and demanded money from the teller. He ran south on Germantown Avenue after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.
Around noon, the same man with another suspect went to the TD Bank on the 5500 block of Ridge Avenue in Roxborough. The armed duo showed the teller a black handgun, demanding money. They ran from the bank after receiving an undisclosed amount.
Both suspects were wearing black ski masks covering a portion of their faces at the time of the robberies. One suspect was wearing a light gray sweatshirt, jeans and tan Timberland boots. The second wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, black gloves and dark shoes.
