Arrests Made in Fox Chase Dumpster Fires

Police have made arrests in two dumpster fires that were intentionally set in Fox Chase early this morning.

Authorities were first called to Bell’s Market at 8330 Bustleton Ave at 3 a.m., where it took them nearly 20 minutes to extinguish a large dumpster fire in the rear of the market that had spread to the building, causing severe damage.

The fire department was again dispatched shortly before 3:20 a.m. a half-mile away at Loretto and Solly avenues for another dumpster blaze, which they were able to quickly bring under control.

The Fire Marshall determined that that the fires were set intentionally, in part based on surveillance camera footage from both locations, and the investigation was taken over by Northeast Detectives.

More information will be available on the arrests later this afternoon.
