Police officers lined up betweenthe parade and the several dozen demonstrators, who were protesting police brutality, public school funding and other issues, according to 6ABC.

The station’s website said a 45-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested during the protest. The man was charged with disorderly conduct, while the woman with disrupting a procession.

Freelance journalist and photographer Joshua Albert, who tweeted about his encounter with cops at the parade, told Metro Philly that he was also detained and released by authorities.

“I was taking photos of another protester being arrested when I was tackled to the ground, with my camera in my hand,” he said. “They cut my backpack off of me, cuffed me, placed me in the van and then 10 minutes later released me.”

Metro reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department on that incident, but has yet to receive a response.
