A new “sharp” and “satirical” comedy titled ‘POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass Are Seven Women Trying To Keep Him Alive’ will hit the stage at the Arden Theatre Company beginning this weekend.
As a release describes, the play, written by Selina Fillinger, hilariously explores the chaos that ensues behind the scenes at the White House, but it does so through the eyes of seven women. The production unfolds on the F. Otto Haas Stage with previews beginning Sept. 12, opening night Sept. 18, and performances through Oct. 6. More information and tickets ($37+) are available online.

Andalusia is located 13 miles from Philadelphia, and the land and the estate once belonged to the Biddle family. Their 19th-century Greek Revival home is currently surrounded by stunning, native woodlands and spectacular formal gardens, but the land and what it holds dates back to the 18th Century.
This Saturday on Sept. 14, the venue will host a Family Fun Day with different events happening throughout the occasion focusing on the ground’s history. Two children’s storytimes will take place at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., both will be run by a children’s librarian with the Bucks County Free Library, plus, locals can find activities for the whole family, craft projects, a scavenger hunt, and craft beers.
Admission to the gardens is $15 for adults, free for children 12 and under. Visitors can also take a one-hour guided tour of the Historic House for an additional $15. Bringing your own picnic gear and relaxing on the grounds for some leisure time is also encouraged.

This Saturday, Sept. 14, the Jam on the Grass festival will return for its 11th year to bring a day full of music and community. The event will be in full swing at Cannstatter Volksfest Verein from noon to midnight, with a musical line-up consisting of Steal Your Peach, Muscle Tough, Uncle Kunkle’s One Gram Band and more.
As a release notes, beyond the musical and visual entertainment, the festival programming will feature fabric dyeing workshops by Cosmos’ Cosmic Dyes Co. and hula sessions with Spin Co., as well as a plethora of craft vendors. Admission to the festival is $25 per person when purchased in advance and $30 on the day of the event. More information can be found online.

The 28th Annual Philadelphia Fringe Festival has taken over the city once again, and the line-up for 2024 spans over 300 diverse productions throughout the four-week activation until Sept. 29. Some highlights to look out for this year? The official release cites world premieres by Lightning Rod Special and Pig Iron Theatre Company along with a new interactive opera titled ‘We Have Gone As Far As We Can Together.’
Additionally, FringeArts will welcome performances from internationally-acclaimed artists Holland Andrews, Reggie Wilson, and Trajal Harrell. On top of in-person performances, this year’s Fringe will include 14 digital events. The Festival Hub program will also be back in 2024 featuring Cannonball, Circus Campus Presents, and the new Glen Foerd Hub.
Cannonball will feature over 100 different programs. Circus Campus will boast 12 different circus and variety shows and Glen Foerd will offer unique and affordable experiences to engage with the arts and the environment.
The “Plants in the Age of Dinosaurs Tour” will kick off on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m at Morris Arboretum at the University of Pennsylvania. Through this activation, an experienced garden educator will bring guests to explore living examples of trees and plants that were around when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
Philadelphians can also head to the venue’s Garden Railway to check out the end of their ‘Dinos!’ exhibit. This activation features a display of dinosaurs, including Triceratops, Pteranodon, and Velociraptors, all made from natural materials like bark, leaves, and twigs among the trains and fixtures of the Railway itself.
