The Attic Youth Center—Philadelphia’s only independent LGBTQ+ Youth Center— recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with a the 2023 theme of the “WE SAY GAY-LA”.
The gala spotlighted recipients of the 2023 Attic Youth Center Awards, honoring individuals and organizations in four categories: OK2BU Role Model Award, Legacy Award, Outstanding Alumni Award, and the Shawn Leavitt Outstanding Volunteer Award. Honorees include Ru Paul’s Drag Race star TS Madison, Philadelphia-based company Dow Inc., Dr. Carrie Jacobs, co-founder and former executive director of The Attic, and dancer O’Shae Sibley, a 28-year-old gay man, who was recently murdered, and was an Attic Youth alumni.
