How to celebrate Bastille Day in Philadelphia

To celebrate like a true Parisian, here are a few ways to celebrate and enjoy Bastille Day in Philadelphia this weekend.

Townsend

This Sunday from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., Townsend will be teaming up with vinyl boutique Latchkey for a special happy hour activation. The evening will boast music from Latchkey’s vinyl collection, $10 cocktails and spritzes, plus a $35 three-course prix fixe menu with French-inspired bites like foie gras mousse, escargot, roasted duck breast and ‘”Le Burger”, aka a burger stacked with fresh Bibb lettuce, garlic aioli, and six-month aged cheddar on top of a house-made brioche bun.

Forsythia

Forsythia is opting for “Bastille Day in Marseille” this Thursday, and they will be highlighting seafood during their monthly “French AF” dinner series in celebration of the occasion. Dinner will feature a five-course prix fixe menu for $95 with an optional wine pairing for $65. Dishes span Bang Island mussel tartine, a crab and lobster salad, Icelandic cod, riz au lait and more. Jansen

For Bastille Day in Philadelphia, Mt. Airy’s Jansen will be serving up a French-inspired three course prix-fixe menu for $65 from now until July 12. Dishes span potato and leek vichyssoise, coq au vin, poached Norweigan salmon and crème brûlée.

Parc

This Sunday, one of the city’s most popular French bistros will be offering an ice cream and macaron cart from noon to 7 p.m., face painting and balloon artists noon to 4 p.m., caricature artists from noon to 3 p.m. and live music from noon to 8 p.m. to celebrate the Parisian holiday.

Lacroix

The Rittenhouse Hotel’s French dining hotspot is hosting a special dinner with Executive Chef Eric Leveillee, plus Lacroix’s founder and former Executive Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix, and Bibou legend Chef Pierre Calmels. The trio of chefs will offer a nine-course menu inspired by other notable French chefs such as Paul Bocuse, Michael Bras, Pierre Gagniere, Alain Passard, Guy Savoy, Anne-Sophie Pic, and Alain Ducasse, among others. 

Reservations are available now on Resy for $145 per person (plus tax and gratuity), and guests can select from two dinner seatings (5:30 and 7:30 p.m.) Space is limited to 20 guests per seating, and an optional beverage pairing will also be available, the release notes.

Café Click

To celebrate Bastille Day in Philadelphia a little early, Café Click will host a St. Germain pop up from 3 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 for all Philadelphians. While there, visitors can munch on crepes, a jambon beurre baguette, escargots and more.
