Monday Night Football brings us a clash of AFC East rivals to round out Week 6. The Bills and Jets are at the head of the table in the East. While there are question marks over Aaron Rodgers, the Jets will be looking to make a statement under the primetime lights.
We’ve built a monster Same Game Parlay for those looking to get in on the action.
Date: Monday, Oct. 14
Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
Location: MetLife Stadium
TV channel: ESPN
Spread: Buffalo Bills -2 | New York Jets +2
Moneyline: Buffalo Bills -130 | New York Jets +110
Total: Over/Under 40.5
The Jets rank 27th in yards per pass attempt and the Bills rank 13th in pass defense. A potentially hobbled Aaron Rodgers is the last thing this inconsistent offense needs to juggle. On the other side of things, Buffalo ranks 3rd in scoring offense, averaging over 28 points per game. This game shouldn’t be as close as the spread suggests.
Feeding off of the last pick, Rodgers has gone over this total in 3 consecutive weeks, but we don’t know how banged up he’s going to be. Minnesota and New England (two of those games played), rank in the bottom against the pass this season.
This offense will still go as Aaron Rodgers goes, but I think we see a regression here given the step-up in caliber of defense and a lingering injury.
Compounding this narrative even further is the fact that Breece Hall has only eclipsed the 60-yard mark once this season. If the Jets try to run the ball in order to lift some of the weight from Aaron Rodgers, we could see a heavy dose of the young rusher, and Buffalo’s defense ranks 25th against the run this season. This is a prime spot for Hall to assert his authority and there’s some value on this line.
Coleman has posted 49+ yards in 3 of the 4 games he’s caught a pass this season and matched his career-high of 5 receptions last time out. While New York boasts a strong pass defense, Coleman’s ability to be used in a variety of ways will be critical to Josh Allen’s success. So long as he continues to grow into this offense, he should comfortably surpass this mark once more.
