Bitter cold, city warnings remain

A cold winter is getting colder today when the temperatures from the weekend-long freeze drop even lower into the 20s during daylight hours, according to weather reports — meaning a city Code Blue will remain in effect.

Homeless Philadelphians have been given temporary shelter at sites across the city, officials have said, and a warning against staying outside too long was issued this weekend. Temperatures are expected to reach a high of just 21 degrees.
