An RV carrying marijuana-laced candy and other edibles went up in smoke Sunday evening crossing the Delaware Memorial Bridge into New Jersey.
Weed World Candies, a company that promotes marijuana legalization and decriminalization and sells laced lollipops, brownies and other treats, has been touring colleges on the East Coast, its owner told NBC10. One of its promotional truckswas continuing its leg from Washington intoPhiladelphia when it burst into flames, shutting down traffic in both northbound lanes around 6 p.m. Smoke and fire could be seen for miles, witnesses reported. The five people inside the RV escaped unharmed, 6ABC reported, but Weed World owner “Dr. Dro” said the company lost about $50,000 worth of merchandise. Firefighters responded quickly to the blaze, and all lanes reopened around 9 a.m.
It’s still unclear what caused the fire.
