Come on Blondie, let’s go party.
The ‘Barbie‘ movie seems to have taken over this summer, even in the City of Brotherly Love. In Manayunk, the fan-favorite bistro, Blondie Philly, is even celebrating with a week-long event to commemorate the film, which comes out at the end of this month.
As a release states, in honor of the highly anticipated release of the new ‘Barbie’ feature (in theaters July 21), the immersive experience will transport the space into “an enchanting Barbie World, where visitors can indulge in delicious pink cuisine while exploring the vibrant movie-themed atmosphere.”
The new glitzy offerings will kick off on Monday, July 17, and stay at Blondie until Friday, July 28, and will be offered in the restaurant’s pink room. The décor and design element will provide a colorful backdrop for all of the Barbie brunch offerings, which also includes some themed cocktails as well.
Limited edition Barbie drink offerings will span the “Malibu Blondie” – aka a Bay Breeze-inspired cocktail, a “Blondie Bombshell”, aka a Raspberry Martini, and the Ken’s Kiss”, aka a large glass of Frosé.
Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy pink-hued menu specials inspired by Barbie’s favorite bites including the Barbie’s Berry Bliss Pancakes (pink Berry Pancakes) and the Pretty in Pink Cake (a large slice of Pink Funfetti Cake.)
As a release also states, to enhance the experience, Blondie Philly will stream a variety of box office hits including cult-classic rom-coms accompanied by a Malibu Barbie-inspired playlist for diners to enjoy while there.
While at this popular Manayunk spot, Philadelphians can also indulge in a variety of bites for dinner—with highlights including crispy brussel sprouts, honey garlic chicken skewers, crab dip, fried cauliflower wings, steak frites, a lobster roll, mussels, a smothered pork chop, plus some sweet finishes like a lemon layer cake.
Brunch at Blondie, on the other hand, spans banana French toast, chorizo and biscuits, lobster benedict, a brunch burger, double stuffed pancakes, a crab omelet and more. The establishment also features a happy hour (every Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.) that boasts discounted bites (think garlic chicken skewers and fried chicken sliders) and libations (like their $7 sangria.)
